3 Cozy Pantry Mixes + Free Printable Labels

Stew Seasoning • Curry Blend • Cornbread Mix

Cold evenings and busy days call for pantry staples that make dinner come together quickly. Today I’m sharing three of my favorite cozy-weather mixes: Stew Seasoning, Curry Blend, and Blue Cornbread Mix.

Each recipe uses simple ingredients, stores beautifully in jars, and comes with free printable labels so your pantry looks organized and ready for anything.

1. Stew Seasoning Mix

Makes: About ¼ cup (enough for one large pot of stew)

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp dried minced onion

  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp dried parsley

  • 2 tsp paprika (sweet or smoked)

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp dried thyme

  • 1 tsp dried rosemary, crushed

  • 1 tsp black pepper

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients and store in an airtight jar for up to 6 months.

  2. To use: Add full mix to a stew pot with 2 lbs meat, 4 cups broth, and vegetables. Simmer until meat is tender. Adjust salt to taste.

2. Curry Blend

Makes: About 3 tablespoons (enough for 1–2 dishes)

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp ground cumin

  • 1 tbsp ground coriander

  • 2 tsp turmeric

  • 1 tsp ground ginger

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp cayenne (optional)

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients and store in an airtight jar for up to 6 months.

  2. To use: Add 2–3 tbsp to curries, soups, or sautéed vegetables along with coconut milk or broth.

3. Blue Cornbread Mix

Makes: About 3 cups (enough for one 8-inch pan)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup blue cornmeal

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend)

  • ⅓ cup sugar (or less, to taste)

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Mix all dry ingredients and store in an airtight jar for up to 3 months.

  2. To use: Preheat oven to 400°F. Combine mix with 1 cup milk, ¼ cup melted butter or oil, and 1 egg. Pour into greased pan and bake 20–25 minutes.

How to Store & Use Your Mixes

  • Store in labeled glass jars or airtight containers.

  • Keep in a cool, dark place for maximum shelf life.

  • Rotate older mixes to the front of your pantry.
